Almay Age Essentials is the Essential Concealer

The last drug store concealer I bought was Almay's Age Essentials Concealer.

This stick concealer was creamy, hydrating, and lasted allllllll day long.

There's no catch! It didn't even dry out the skin under my eyes. This was the diamond in the rough and left me with fresh makeup for my whole day.

Who says drug store makeup can't do the trick?

I give it 5 kisses.

It's available for $10.97.

Physician's Formula: #InstaReady for a Fleeting Moment

Next up on my drug store trial, I tried out Physician’s formula #InstaReady Full Coverage Concealer.

This liquid concealer gave me decent coverage. I often used it to cover up bruises after plastic surgery procedures.

It didn't dry out my skin and thankfully it wasn't too sheer. My only problem with it that as the day went on, the coverage didn't last as long as I would've liked.

I give it 3 kisses.

It's available on for $5.49.

Full-Coverage: Maybelline Comes Close But Falls Short

I did a test drive of 3 different drug store concealers on a mission to find the best.

I picked up Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment. It went on incredibly well with its sponge applicator. The concealer wasn't drying at all and had a great feel.

Unfortunately it just didn't give enough coverage for underneath my eyes. My dark circles still made an appearance.

I give it 4 kisses.

It's available at for $11.49.

The Perfect Pink: CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick

On my latest Target splurge, I picked up CoverGirl's Colorlicious Lipstick in Honeyed Bloom.

I was in the market for a new nude shade and I found the pigment of my dreams. For me, this was the perfect pink. It looks totally natural.

I've always liked CoverGirl's lipsticks because they're so smooth and creamy. They don't tend to last longer than an hour or so, but you can only expect so much from a drug store product.

I give it 4 kisses.

It's available on for $5.99.

Lashes for Days

My last Target visit resulted in quite the drug store cosmetics haul. I purchased Covergirl's new Total Tease mascara, among lipsticks and bronzers (you'll hear about those in the next few days).

I was incredibly impressed with Total Tease. I picked it up in Brown Black because the little bit of brown makes my blue eyes pop more. They even sell the mascara in Black, Brown, and Navy (how fun!).

With it's innovative applicator, I was able to apply the mascara with ease, giving my lashes more volume. This tool let me separate the lashes that stuck together! This is definitely the best choice a drug store has to offer.

I give it 5 kisses.

It's available on for $7.99.

Bright Eyes with Wilma Schumann

I was eager to try out Wilma Schumann's Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads, but I was worried that I would have a bad skin reaction. I have incredibly sensitive skin so I was nervous I'd end up with red, puffy eyes.

Instead I just lost my under eye bags! I'd had a rough week, which resulted in a lot of work and a lot less sleep. My under eye bags were darker than I'd like to admit, but these pads really relaxed my eyes. The next day my circles were so much lighter!

I looked and felt rejuvenated!

I'd give these eye pads 5 kisses.

It's available for $18 on

The Natural Lip: Tarteist Lip Paint

I picked up Tarteist Lip Paint at my latest Sephora visit, too, and was not disappointed.

I typically for a dark lip color, but this time I chose "Birthday Suit," which is a pink-nude shade. It's almost looks too natural. It threw me for a loop!

The lip paint goes on smoothly and it's almost a sin not to use it. With expert lipstick lines and this shade, Tarteist Lip Paint is my new go-to for any situation.

I give it 5 kisses.

It's available on for $20.

Rosy All Day Long: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush

I'm not a huge fan of blush, but I saw Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush during one of my regular Sephora runs and figured I'd give it a shot.

I think I originally lost my love for blush when I couldn't find any pigments without shimmer. My skin, while I wish it was, is definitely not perfectly smooth and shimmer always brought out any bumps on my cheeks.

Luckily, this Tarte blush is gorgeously matte with absolutely no shimmer. The pigment is so dense so you'll only need a little on your BlendSmart brush. It blends so easily and it's bubble gum pink shade is guaranteed to look great on any skin tone.

I give it 5 kisses.

It's available on for $21 (it's on sale!).

Chinese Women Can't Fly Home: Why You Shouldn't Travel for Surgery

If you've seen this NY Post article, you know about the three Chinese women who traveled to South Korea for plastic surgery. You probably also know that they got stuck in South Korea.

Their faces were so swollen after their procedures that the airport and airline staff couldn't identify them as the women in their passports.

There's something to think about before you travel to have facial work done. (Plus, the altitude pressure changes during flights can be extremely unsafe right after surgery! Yikes!)

Traveling for cosmetic surgery is a common interest, but I'd caution anyone looking to fly for a procedure because you'll always want to go to the original doctor for touch-ups and fixes. If your doctor is 3,000 miles away, things get a bit more complicated.

So try to stay close to home if you can. Remember that big cities are known for having great plastic surgeons, but small towns host some hidden gems, too!

The moral of this story is if you're going to have your appearance significantly altered, think about your passport photo!
