NYX Liquid Suede

I have to rave about another one of my favorite products, NYX Liquid Suede cream lipstick.

Let's start with the packaging. Cute and simple, it does its job and shows how much of the lip color you have left.

What about the applicator? Perfection in a brush! Angled to ease application, the brush makes it easy to create straight, crisp lines, giving you a glamorous look (for just $8.99!). While it does smudge easily, the cream is soft and hydrating, and dries with a matte finish.

And last, but certainly not least, I have handle of their shades, but my favorite by far is Soft-Spoken, a muted rose.

I give it 5 kisses.

It's available on www.nyxcosmetics.com for $7.00, normally, but it's currently on sale for $4.90!

#GRLPWR is a Let Down

For obvious reasons, I was psyched when I got my hands on The Beauty Crop's #GWRPWR Matte Liquid Lipstick. Mixing feminism with matte lipstick? Who wouldn't be won over? And I was a sucker for the shade "Imma Bawse," a dark red wine color.

But my excitement was crushed the minute I cracked open the tube and tried to put on the lipstick. The product itself is strangely thick and doesn't spread well,  so if you rely on rubbing your lips together to even out the color, this product isn't for you.

I put on one layer and then went over it to even out my lines. I had it on for about 5 minutes when it felt like the lipstick was disintegrating off my face. I looked in the mirror to see the color crumbling off my lips. And to top it off, the product was streaky AND dry.

Unfortunately, I was only impressed by the cute name of this lipstick.

I give it 1 kiss.

Say Aloha to Beautiful Lips

As if the Hawaiians already didn't have everything we want, they even have the best beauty products.

Luckily, they're sharing.

Hanalei, the beauty company based in Honolulu, knows how to treat chapped and sun dried lips. Their lip treatment is a gift from the gods to women struggling in dry weather, whether it's hot or cold.

Hanalei suggests using their product before bedtime (or throughout the day) so I followed instruction. I was happy to discover that the treatment while hydrating, isn't sticky and thick. It feels just like lip balm, but has the power of a treatment. Is it cheesy to say it feels like a vacation for your lips? But really, who can resist the shine it gives your lips?

Think it can't get better? It can. Because Hanalei makes products 100% from kukui nut oil, the product is unscented and also 100% natural.

I give it 5 kisses.

Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder: A Photo Finish Look

I first tested out Neutrogena's SkinClearing Mineral Powder when I was about 16. I wanted a thick powder to cover blemishes and give me a fresh, matte finish and thanks to Neutrogena, I found it.

And I've stuck with it. Naturally, my skin has changed since I was a teenager, but this powder has yet to fail me. The applicator even has two sides: a smooth side for light coverage or touch ups and a textured side for heavy coverage. The powder feels light no matter which applicator you use and always leaves you picture perfect.

The powder even uses micro clear technology to make sure there are no break outs as a result of heavy application. What could be better for 16-year-old me? Nothing. What could be better for me? Nothing!

I give this 5 kisses.

It's available on www.neutrogena.com for $13.99.

NARS is a Girl's Best Friend

I'm big on hiding those pesky blemishes and uneven skin tones, so naturally, I'm big on concealers. Hands down, my favorite concealer is NARS' Radiant Creamy Concealer. I use the Honey shade because its peach tones are perfect for my fair to medium complexion.

I've used this product for a long, long time, but I'm reviewing it now because it's still the best I've used. I've strayed a few times from my beloved concealer, but I always come back.

Unlike others, this NARS concealer really covers imperfections. You won't spend 30 minutes applying, dabbing, blending, and rubbing this concealer on to find the perfect balance of coverage. Just a quick dab and blend and your skin is radiant as ever. It takes me less than 2 minutes to cover the circles around my eyes.

And the best part? It's thick and provides even coverage, without looking cakey or feeling heavy on your skin. No grease, no shine, no worries.

I give it 5 kisses.

Minus 417 Brings a Huge Plus!

As I'm always saying, I have the driest skin possible. If there's wind, sun, rain, snow--it doesn't matter. My hands will be dry. So basically, what I'm saying is, I'm always on the hunt for a good moisturizer and I found one with -417! (And how chic is that brand name?)

Besides the earthy fragrance (perfect for the girl who isn't all about flowery, perfume-y scented lotions), this moisturizer really works. You'll want to wait a minute before trying to turn a doorknob or type on your keyboard, but this lotion really does the trick. It's moisturizing and it feels like my hands are protected from weather (and dish soap)!

I give it 5 kisses.

E.l.f. Brings Christmas, Round 3

I told you I can't rave about e.l.f. enough so here I am, talking about another one of their products.

I may not have disclosed this previous, but my eyebrows are very important to me. I always say they make or break your face, and I'll say it a thousand times.

So I was hesitant about switching brow products, but e.l.f. has never let me down so I gave another one of their products a shot.

I picked up their Lock on Liner & Brow Cream in Espresso, their darkest color, because I like my brows to match my roots, aka the darkest part of my hair. When I got home, I cleaned my angled brush and went to town. I was able to sculpt strong brows and the cream kept my eyebrow hairs in place, which is something I've always had a problem with! Over the course of the day, my brows usually had a few unruly hairs doing whatever they pleased, but with this cream, they were "locked" in place.

I'm in love.

I give it 5 kisses.

E.l.f Brings Christmas, Round 2

After being fully disappointed by my Jessie's Girl eyeliner, I set out to find a new (and good!) liquid liner that wouldn't hurt my wallet.

And of course, being the drug store makeup guru I try to be, I turned to e.l.f.

I found their Expert Liquid Liner in Jet Black (because who uses brown?) for just $2. Yep, $2.

The best part? It works like a $40 liner. It's thin applicator allows for subtle or bold lines, all dependent on your styling. And unlike Jessie's Girl Cosmetics, this liner is opaque and strong. If you miss a spot, you can just go right back over your eyelid and you won't have to worry about wiping anything off.

I've had the world's perfect cat eye for 3 days now and I don't see myself giving it up any time soon. I can't rave about e.l.f enough.

I give it 5 kisses.

Real Chemistry: Real Soft or Real Scam?

I was so pumped to try Real Chemistry's Luminous 3-Minute Peel for the Body. I'm exfoliating type of girl. When my skin's clean, my soul feels clean. Dramatic, but when you feel good on the inside, you feel good on the outside.

So I used this peel on my shoulders and chest in the shower. I'm not sure if it was the running water or the product itself, but I was disappointed. The scrub says to massage the peel in a circular motion to exfoliate and it will form solids in 15-20 seconds. So I massaged it into my shoulders. 15 seconds went by, 20 seconds went by. I eventually felt little beads form under my fingertips, but they didn't seem to really be doing anything to my skin. It was very surface level.

There's even a warning on the package that says, "This product is a powerful exfoliant designed to remove dead skin. Do not use on areas where skin is especially thin and test the product on a small area before use to assess sensitivity. After exfoliating, we strongly recommend applying an effective physical sun block..." so I was expecting a DEEP cleanse and I barely got a little scrub.

Sigh.

I give this 1 kiss.
